Onet News – The female face of entrepreneurship

“There is no entrepreneurship without empathy”. – This is the motto of Beata Drzazga, owner of several companies in Poland and abroad. In an interview with PAP Business English journalist Aleksandra Olbryt, Beata Drzazga told what her recipe for success is, how one builds an̨ ethical business and why not everyone succeeds. Drzazga describes herself as a “mentor, philanthropist, visionary, advisor in life and business.” He drops the feminativity consciously – to emphasize that entrepreneurship has no gender. “The position of women in business is much better than it was twenty years ago” – says Drzazga. Although the problem of the glass ceiling in companies still exists and cannot be ignored, women today are more likely to take matters into their own hands. Drzazga is a great example of the fact that to build a business you need not only inner strength and determination, but also – and perhaps above all – a sense of mission and the aforementioned empathy. Today we understand, that business is not only numbers, but also emotions and people, who create it – and to move freely between these two worlds, we need a sense and intuition. Here women have the advantage. But, as Beata Drzazga emphasizes, a good entrepreneur can become anyone – regardless of gender, age or accumulated capital. She herself is walking proof of this . In business it is the right attitude that counts. And the realization that emotions do not mean weakness at all. On the contrary, it is how we treat those, whom we employ and work with , whether we can approach them with the right amount of empathy, understanding, cordiality – determines whether our business will survive or even succeed, supported by the loyalty and performance of employees, who feel appreciated and respected.

“Before ESG regulations were introduced, my companies were already operating in this way, ” says Beata Drzazga. ESG, or Environmental, Social, Governance, refers to the actions of companies on ecology, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance. Only ethical businesses, led by responsible and conscious entrepreneurs, have a chance to maintain a strong position in the market. It is impossible to succeed in business without concern for the environment, for the society, that we are building, finally – about the team, that is, the people who make up the organization. Or perhaps in other words – it is possible, but it will be a colossus on clay legs.
