How do we overcome the fear of taking the first step when we feel we’re not quite ready? How can we ensure authenticity and attract people who will believe in our vision? Beata Drzazga shares her experience and argues that the key to success is genuine passion and a willingness to learn from even the greatest challenges.

You often talk about the importance of courage when taking your first steps in business. Why is courage so crucial?

Beata Drzazga: Because perfect conditions don’t exist. If we’re constantly waiting for the moment when everything is certain and risk-free, we might never get there. Courage is about taking action with a clear vision of the goal, but also with the awareness that we’ll make mistakes along the way. I think we learn the most from solving problems, and if we have kind and supportive people around us, it’s much easier to get going.

Values play a significant role in your work. Do they sometimes become an obstacle in such a dynamic business, especially in foreign markets?

Beata Drzazga: Quite the opposite. Values like authenticity, empathy, and honesty help a company gain the trust of employees and customers. When we clearly understand what our priorities are, we can make decisions that not only foster growth but also build a long-term reputation. Personally, I believe that when a company abandons key principles solely in pursuit of quick profits, it risks losing what is most valuable in business: the loyalty of its people.

How can you turn failure into learning? After all, in business, every mistake costs money.

Beata Drzazga: Mistakes and failures are an integral part of entrepreneurship. Our mindset is key. Instead of treating them as the end of the road, it’s worth examining them as signals and asking: “What can I learn from this? How can I translate this into future actions?” This mindset allows for quicker corrections. Of course, I’m not saying that failures stop being painful, but the ability to draw conclusions allows us to transform them into a stimulus for further development.

The decision to expand abroad always carries risk. What do you think is the most challenging aspect of entering a foreign market?

Beata Drzazga: It’s definitely adapting to a different culture and the pace of decision-making. Many things are handled differently there than in Poland – for example, negotiations and contact with business partners. Flexibility and openness are essential. Building a network of local contacts and support, such as trusted advisors who can help you navigate the maze of regulations and country-specific requirements, is also crucial. Without this, it’s easy to get lost or make the wrong decisions.

You repeatedly say that passion is the source of success, even as a company grows and enters international markets. Why do you consider it so important?

Beata Drzazga: Because business isn’t always easy. Everyone experiences difficult times, when stress or doubts arise. If we don’t feel an inner conviction that what we do has a deeper meaning, we can become discouraged much more quickly. Authentic passion, however, attracts people – colleagues, clients, and partners. They see that the company is not just driven by profit, but also by a genuine desire to implement positive change. This builds trust and creates a strong market differentiation.

What advice would you give to entrepreneurs who are just considering taking their project abroad?

Beata Drzazga: First, do some thorough research. It’s worth thoroughly understanding the specifics of a given location, because sometimes minor cultural or legal differences can determine whether our business model will work. Secondly, it’s a good idea to seek allies in the local market. We don’t always have to learn everything from scratch. And thirdly, don’t be afraid to make adjustments to your strategy. It’s natural that what worked perfectly in one country might need to be slightly modified in another. Flexibility and a willingness to constantly learn are key.

Thank you very much for the conversation and the inspiring insight into what lies behind business success.

Beata Drzazga: Thank you too. I believe that when we have clearly defined goals and truly believe in them, even the biggest challenges are surmountable. If even one person reaches for their idea and gains the courage to act after our conversation, I will consider it a shared success.
